Focus And Scope

PUSAKA: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is a scientific journal published biannually (June and December) that focuses on the development and application of science and technology through community service. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating the results of community engagement activities that aim to enhance community participation, empowerment, and sustainable development.

This journal invites manuscripts that present innovative practices, models, methods, and strategies derived from community service programs and their implementation in various fields of knowledge. Contributions can be from academic institutions, research centers, governmental and non-governmental organizations, or independent practitioners.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

1. Community Empowerment

  • Models and strategies to improve the social, economic, educational, or cultural well-being of communities.

  • Programs for increasing capacity, resilience, and independence of target communities.

2. Education and Literacy

  • Community-based educational initiatives, such as non-formal education, literacy programs, parenting education, or life skills training.

3. Appropriate Technology

  • Development and implementation of simple, applicable technologies that support local communities, especially in rural or underserved areas.

4. Health and Sanitation

  • Public health education, disease prevention, nutrition, sanitation, and clean water initiatives for community welfare.

5. Environmental Conservation

  • Community service activities that promote environmental sustainability, waste management, and renewable energy awareness.

6. Economic Development

  • Entrepreneurship training, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) development, financial literacy, and income-generating projects.

7. Local Culture and Wisdom

  • Preservation, revitalization, and development of local culture, traditions, and indigenous knowledge through community engagement.

8. Governance and Public Services

  • Empowerment related to village governance, public service improvements, and strengthening local institutions.

PUSAKA emphasizes the integration of academic knowledge with real-world impact through practical community service. All submitted manuscripts are expected to provide evidence of implementation, community involvement, and measurable outcomes that contribute to sustainable community development.
